The Development Team


Introduction
Systems currently have to deal with a lot of requests to helpdesk which are actually developmental issues that take time, money and planning. We have decided to create a new service call Systems Development which will hopefully combat the problems caused by staff emailing development request to helpdesk.

Improvements
The Helpdesk often appears to have many outstanding calls due to developmental issues taking time to be implemented. The introduction of the Development Service should allow only faults to be sent to the helpdesk, thus reducing the number of outstanding calls recorded. We will, however log calls into the Systems Development database to monitor their progress. Calls will be prioritised and the appropriate member of staff alerted to what is involved and the scheduled time of implementation.

Systems have allocated time to developments and enhancements to the service, and as always try to meet the requirements of everyone. However, due to the workload, developmental issues will take longer to solve.
